Hazardous Medications
Lactated Ringer's Solution:
This s a fluid and electrolyte replenisher.
Indications:
It is prescribed for correction of extracellular volume and electrolyte depletion.
Contradictions:
Kidney Failure, congestive heart failure, or hypoproteinemia prohibits its use.
Adverse Effects:
Among the morre serious advers reactions are sodium excess and fluid overload; which may lead to pulmonary and peripheral edema.
